HDMI for your computer connection

My husband knows that I spend so much time on the computer so he wants to get me a new computer. Of course I use my computer for a lot of stuff, music, pictures, video and more. So I want to make sure that the computer is HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) supported so that I can transfer my files and data. I know that I can find HDMI connectors on the internet for any type of application I need.
